“A pianist of magisterial elegance, power, and insight.”—The New York Times

With his commanding technique and searching interpretations, this celebrated Norwegian pianist has won acclaim worldwide, playing concertos and recitals in the world’s leading concert halls and with its foremost orchestras, while building an esteemed and extensive discography. His UGA Presents debut showcases this artistry across selections by two esteemed Eastern European composers — Hungarian György Kurtág and Czech Leoš Janáček. The program is bookended by Robert Schumann’s Klavierstücke and Carnaval, the latter of which brings the intrigue of masked revelry to 21 miniatures that are among his most enduring works.
