As musical genres blend more than ever, it’s worth remembering that New Orleans has always been where global sounds and cultures meet—reshaped by the city’s unmistakable spirit and joie de vivre. No group embodies that legacy more than the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. For more than 65 years, they’ve honored the past while keeping New Orleans’ vibrant musical heritage alive. In their first visit to UGA in fifteen years, the band brings Crescent City classics and favorite seasonal tunes to Hodgson Concert Hall just in time for the holidays—with their signature New Orleans twist.
