As we start a new year, the UGA Presents season isn’t half over. Here’s what Performing Arts Center staffers are most excited about in the coming months.
I’m most looking forward to hosting the Yonder Mountain String Band. My dad got me into bluegrass from a young age, and I’m hoping he’ll be able to come and jam with us!—Amy Cole, assistant stage manager
Leyla McCalla is already amazing. I think experiencing this event in Ramsey Hall will afford the patron a musical, passionate, and intimate performance that will offer a profound, life-long memory.— Graf Imhoof, production manager
The performance I’m most looking forward to in spring of 2023 is Kelli O’Hara. She is a Broadway legend with the voice of an angel, so I know her concert will be wonderful to watch. She also graduated from my alma mater, Oklahoma City University, and she was a somewhat integral part of my undergraduate years. A picture of her starring in a production of the musical Carnival! while she was an undergrad hung in the secluded hallway where I used to prep before auditions, and I often like to think she was my good luck charm. I’m excited to hear her beautiful soprano fill Hodgson Hall!—Miranda Wilson Brown, patron services manager & educational outreach coordinator
I am very much looking forward to Chanticleer. A cappella music always takes me back to a simpler, more beautiful time. I’m glad they’ll be here to connect with us through voice.—Carlton Bain, development coordinator
Looking forward to so many things, but especially Chanticleer because they blew me away last time they were here, in 2015. And Kelli O’Hara because I’m a sucker for Broadway vocalists. She’s going to sound amazing in the hall.—Blake H. Schneider, assistant director
I’m most looking forward to the Martha Graham Dance Company performances in February.—Emily Eddington, stage manager
I am looking forward to the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine.—Vivian Hermitano, Business Operations Manager
Looking forward to Matthew Whitaker. Combining an exciting and excellent jazz pianist with the acoustics of Hodgson Concert Hall, I think this will be one of the outstanding concerts of the year.—Dee Hayman, box office manager
I’m looking forward to the Matthew Whitaker and Joshua Redman concerts.—Tim Wells, publications manager
I’m beyond excited about the Pavel Haas Quartet in March. They’re first rate and they’re playing rapturously beautiful music. They are not to be missed. And the Stephen Hough recital will be amazing.—Mark Mobley, director of marketing and communications
