Born Walter Ingolf Marcus to a German-Jewish family in 1912, he eventually emigrated to the US during the rise of the Nazi party in 1939, where he changed his name to Dahl. Once here, he worked extensively in Hollywood during the golden age of film. His story and his music has recently been experiencing a renaissance. This exciting work was commissioned by CBDNA in 1961.
