Over more than five decades, the Takács Quartet has risen to the very pinnacle of classical music, earning international acclaim for its artistry, precision, and depth of interpretation. Widely regarded as one of the finest string quartets in the United States, it has also been hailed as “probably the best string quartet on the planet” (The Age). Renowned for its vibrant performances, the ensemble returns to UGA with a compelling program featuring masterworks by Mozart and Brahms alongside American composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s evocative Quijotadas, blending tradition with contemporary brilliance.

Part of American Panorama: Voices of a Nation at 250

“Gabriela Lena Frank is the real deal: a modern composer with a personal style, one that manages to integrate a wide range of sounds and performing techniques into a cohesive language that unapologetically includes melody and tonal harmony without ever sounding anachronistic.”—ClassicsToday.com
