He made his debut at age seventeen alongside legendary sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, launching an international career that spans more than three decades. Over the years, he has collaborated with leading artists and ensembles across the globe, including Yo-Yo Ma and the Silkroad Ensemble—of which he has been a core member for more than twenty years.

Founded by Das, the HUM Ensemble is a dynamic world music collective dedicated to fostering global understanding and transcending cultural boundaries through music.
