SUMMARY:The Del McCoury Band
DESCRIPTION:“McCoury is a national treasure.”—Washington Post \nEven among the pantheon of music’s finest\, Del McCoury stands alone. From the nascent sound of bluegrass that charmed hardscrabble hillbilly honky-tonks\, rural schoolhouse stages\, and the crowning glory of the Grand Ole Opry\, to the present day’s digital revolution\, Del is the living link. Now helming the Del McCoury Band\, with sons Ronnie and Rob\, he stands as a torchbearer for the entire sweep and scope of bluegrass history. In his sixth decade onstage\, he continues to endear himself to a whole new generation of fans. One listen and it’s crystal clear why: There’s only one Del.

SUMMARY:Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (2026)
DESCRIPTION:Due to the concert taking place in nearby Sanford Stadium on Saturday\, April 25\, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s performance in Hodgson Concert Hall has been moved to Wednesday\, April 29\, 7:30 p.m. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. All tickets remain valid for the new date. Ticketholders may contact the Performing Arts Center Box Office (706-542-4400) if you have additional questions.\nQuintet Revelations\nThe piano quintet is a powerhouse chamber ensemble\, combining the sonic richness of a string quartet with the symphonic aura of grand piano. Inspired by Robert Schumann’s early example\, composers from the early Romantic age all the way through the 21st century have contributed significantly to the genre. Russian master Anton Arensky\, teacher of Rachmaninov\, penned his sole quintet in his mature years\, and ever-popular French composer Camille Saint-Saëns began his prolific chamber music career with this early quintet of surprising skill and maturity. Bracing violin duos by virtuosi of the Baroque and Classical eras serve as effervescent preludes. \nCANCELLED: PERFORMANCE TALK\nDue to a scheduling conflict\, the performance talk for this event has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience. The performance itself will continue as scheduled.

SUMMARY:Cécile McLorin Salvant
DESCRIPTION:“There’s an intellectual playfulness to everything that Cécile McLorin Salvant’s velvety voice touches. It rises and falls with authority\, striking highs that flutter and lows that grumble and roar. Her wordplay teases\, taunts and tests in a way that forces her to not just sing a lyric\, but dive into roles with the zeal of a method actor.”—Downbeat\nSinger and composer Cécile McLorin Salvant is one of the greatest vocalists of her generation and a true creative force. She won Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album for three consecutive releases and a prestigious MacArthur Fellowship\, among many other honors. The late Jessye Norman once described her as “a unique voice supported by an intelligence and full-fledged musicality\, which light up every note she sings.” Salvant comes to Hodgson Concert Hall at last to perform her glittering interpretations of jazz standards and unearthed treasures from her eclectic repertoire.

SUMMARY:Ébène Quartet
DESCRIPTION:“In line with the quartet’s name\, the performance evoked the characteristics of ebony: opaque and dense\, much like the hardwood that gains depth and significance through polishing and appreciation of its intricate grain.”—Bachtrack\nAttending a concert by the French ensemble Quatuor Ébène is a musical experience unlike any other. For 25 years\, this award-winning string quartet has achieved new heights by transforming familiar repertoire into sounds beyond perfection and by constantly seeking a dynamic exchange with themselves and with the audience. The group’s first visit to UGA in 16 years promises to showcase the musicians at their very best\, performing Ravel’s brilliant string quartet alongside two of Beethoven’s iconic works. \nPERFORMANCE TALK\nJoin us for a free pre-performance talk in Hodgson Concert Hall from 6:45-7:15 pm. \nNOTE\nUnfortunately\, the violist Marie Chilemme is unable to participate in the quartet’s spring tour. The wonderful Hélène Clément (former violist of the Doric String Quartet) will take her place for this performance.

SUMMARY:Tord Gustavsen Trio
DESCRIPTION:“It is clearer than ever: Gustavsen does not touch the keys\, he sings on them.”—The New York Times\nNorwegian jazz pianist and composer Tord Gustavsen draws listeners into a musical world where melody is cherished as much as the freedom to explore textures and soundscapes. His music is the offspring of American jazz traditions — including instrumentation and improvisation — and European culture. The result is a unique\, immediately identifiable Nordic jazz sound that has won the hearts of music lovers worldwide and established Gustavsen as one of Scandinavia’s leading jazz artists. \n\nPart of Nordic Dream: Voices from Denmark\, Finland\, Norway\, and Sweden

Ticketholders have been notified. \nIsata Kanneh-Mason\, piano \n“She is a pianist who makes lines sing beautifully and virtuosic passages dance\, finding intimacy and eloquence at telling moments.”—BBC Music Magazine \nThe acclaimed young pianist returns to Hodgson Concert Hall with two of Beethoven’s most popular sonatas\, “Moonlight” and “Waldstein\,” in addition to music by Ravel.
