To celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, Chamber Music Athens opens the 2020 festival with internationally renowned pianist Joseph Kalichstein alongside the Grammy Award winning Parker Quartet and University of Georgia School of Music faculty in Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto in G Major, Op. 58.  The Parker Quartet also performs “The Joke” String Quartet by Beethoven’s teacher, Joseph Haydn, and UGA piano faculty and graduate students open the program with Felix Mendelssohn’s transcendent Overture to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in a version for 8 hands by the composer.
