This 60-minute lecture/demonstration by the musicians of Nobuntu (Zimbabwe) explores the ensemble’s music, history, and culture. Participants will learn about the history of this music in Southern Africa. The guest artists will discuss and demonstrate the cultural origins, its relevance to the ensemble’s culture, and how this music differs or compares to other forms of a cappella music.
Students and public welcome. Free advance reservations required. Strictly limited capacity. Please bring your mask; the artists request all participants wear face coverings at this event.
