SUMMARY:An Irish Celebration Martin Hayes
DESCRIPTION:Curated by legendary fiddler Martin Hayes (The Gloaming\, The Common Ground Ensemble)\, An Irish Celebration is an evocative journey through the many strands of Irish traditional and folk music\, brought vividly to life by an exceptional cast of collaborators. At the heart of the evening is the Martin Hayes Quartet\, whose expressive\, boundary pushing approach has redefined Irish traditional music for contemporary audiences. They are joined by acclaimed Indian pianist Utsav Lal and the luminous Irish folk duo Ye Vagabonds\, with musician Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh\, dancer Edwina Guckian\, and prolific Irish poet Paula Meehan. \nThis unique program celebrates both the depth of Ireland’s musical heritage and its enduring dialogue with American traditions. Through a seamless blend of solo performance\, intimate collaboration\, and expansive ensemble playing\, the concert traces the emotional range and evolving spirit of this music\, at once ancient and new. \n“For my money\, Martin Hayes is the greatest living Irish traditional musician.”—The Arts Dispatch

SUMMARY:Aga Khan Master Musicians with Vincent Peirani & Vincent Ségal
DESCRIPTION:The Aga Khan Master Musicians create music inspired by their own deep roots in the traditions of the Middle East\, Mediterranean\, Central Asia\, and China. Brought together by the Aga Khan Music Program\, they explore how musical innovation can contribute to the revitalization of cultural heritage. They are joined by two eminent French musicians who are celebrated for their explorations across musical genres: accordionist\, singer and composer Vincent Peirani and cellist and bassist Vincent Ségal. \nThese acclaimed performers and composer-arrangers appear on major global stages while also serving as teachers\, mentors\, and curators. Each artist has mastered a rigorous musical tradition with its own styles and techniques. At the same time\, they view tradition as a guide—not a limit—fueling new creative work. Through their music\, they build bridges across borders and cultures\,  fostering connection and understanding around the world. \n“The creative process of Aga Khan Master Musicians highlights their openness and democratic approach. Each member contributes their unique compositions\, often featuring their favorite instruments\, which are thoughtfully arranged collaboratively. These arrangements evolve through live performances\, embracing spontaneity and improvisation.”—World Music Central
