SUMMARY:Chris Thile
DESCRIPTION:“The afternoon carried on like this — Thile gently guiding the show like he was turning the sides of a colorful\, musical Rubik’s Cube — never once letting the air between himself and the very close audience settle on any one aspect of what he had to and was capable of offering.”—No Depression\nAcclaimed Grammy Award-winning mandolinist\, singer\, songwriter\, composer\, and MacArthur Fellow recipient of the prestigious “Genius Grant\,” Chris Thile is a multifaceted musical talent\, described by The Guardian as “that rare being: an all-round musician\,” and hailed by NPR as a “genre-defying musical genius.” Thile is a founding member of the highly influential string bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek\, and has collaborated with countless luminaries from Yo-Yo Ma to Fiona Apple to Brad Mehldau. For four years\, Thile hosted public radio favorite Live from Here with Chris Thile (the successor to A Prairie Home Companion). With his broad outlook\, Thile creates a distinctly American canon and a new musical aesthetic for performers and audiences alike\, giving the listener “one joyous arc\, with the linear melody and vertical harmony blurring into a single web of gossamer beauty” (New York Times). \nOver the last year\, Thile has been touring with Nickel Creek in support of the critically acclaimed 2023 release Celebrants\, and captivating audiences with a playfully ambitious biographical composition entitled ATTENTION! (a narrative song cycle for extroverted mandolinist and orchestra). \nThe wide-ranging program of Thile’s 2025-2026 solo performances will feature selections from his acclaimed solo recordings of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas – including the upcoming second volume out this autumn – alongside his signature mix of classical\, folk and improvisational brilliance.

SUMMARY:Alfredo Rodriguez Trio
DESCRIPTION:“What distinguishes Rodriguez’s globalism is his ability to both compose and perform into a kind of ecstasy.”—NPR \nBorn and raised in Havana\, Cuba\, Alfredo Rodriguez’s passion for music has always burned brightly. Mentored by legendary producer Quincy Jones\, Rodriguez eventually made his way to the U.S. and embarked on a career as a Grammy-nominated jazz pianist and composer. His music embodies the collective sound of his new home in Miami: a blend of Latin pop\, timba\, salsa\, bachata\, tango\, reggaeton\, and bolero. Reminiscent of the city’s diverse Latino community\, the music calls upon Rodriguez’s roots and demonstrates the unique way in which “his playing\, proficient and soulful\, projects a spirited\, youthful charm” (New York Times).

SUMMARY:George Hinchliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (2022)
DESCRIPTION:“Cleverly arranged and played with humor\, energy and virtuosity.” – New York Times \nNot even a global pandemic can keep them away! Canceled only a few days prior to taking place in March 2020 when the world closed down\, we’re chuffed to finally bring you Britain’s greatest living ukulele band. \nPlaying popular hits and classical favorites\, the “Ukes” honor the spirit of the songs we love while adding textures and sounds that can only be created with four simple strings. The eight virtuosos—playing ukuleles of various sizes and registers and singing along to the great delight of all (usually!)—have toured the globe since 1985 with a trunk full of tunes\, a uniquely British sense of humor\, and a toe-tapping performance that no one can ever resist. Don’t even try! \nView our COVID-19 safety protocols here.
