DESCRIPTION:In a season so often defined by sparkle and sound\, Where the Light Begins invites us to look inward—to the quiet strength and shared hope that connect us all. Through music that spans cultures\, languages\, and generations\, our singers remind us that light is not something we wait for\, but something we nurture within ourselves and offer to others. \nFrom the Swahili Amani (“peace”) to the principle of Umoja (“unity”)\, from the Hebrew Al Shlosha D’Varim to the timeless plea Dona Nobis Pacem\, this concert weaves together songs that speak of harmony\, compassion\, and community. Interwoven with festive and seasonal works\, the program reflects the beauty of many traditions while illuminating our shared longing for peace and connection.

DESCRIPTION:The Classic City Community Chorus fall concert\, “Christmas in the Classic City\,” will be Monday\, December 15 at 7:30 pm in UGA’s Hodgson Hall at the Performing Arts Center. \nOur popular fall concert\, “Christmas in the Classic City\,” will feature a cornucopia of familiar holiday favorites including two suites of “The Many Moods of Christmas\,” excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah\,” “The Chanukah Suite” by Jason Robert Brown\, and selected other works. \nThe concert is free and no ticket is required. \n
