Volunteer ushers are the best link the University of Georgia Office of Performing Arts has to our patrons, and these volunteers are responsible for representing us proudly at all events. At any time we maintain a volunteer team of approximately 100.
Your Goal Is to Represent Us
We consider our ushers to be part of our team of staff members on show nights. It is the smiling faces of our volunteers that greet our patrons at the door for each performance, and it is essential that our volunteers remain focused on excellent customer service. We work hard to take care of our volunteers, keeping them well informed and well trained. In exchange, we ask that our volunteers give their very best while they are representatives of the UGA Office of Performing Arts.
Benefits
Be an integral part of some of the most extraordinary performances in North Georgia! Whether you are taking tickets, assisting special needs patrons, advising patrons of the late seating policy, or preparing the house for the next event, your role is vital to a successful show. Each year we invite our volunteers to an event in your honor. There is always food and live music and it gives you time to chat with your fellow volunteers and administrative staff.

Training sessions for new volunteers are typically held on two different evenings during the month of August. Contact the administrative office at (706) 542-1668 for more information. Openings are filled on a purely as needed basis.
Ushering gets you inside the world of professional performing arts and lets you see how a show is brought together for the patrons to enjoy. Volunteer with the UGA Performing Arts Center today and enjoy art from an entirely new perspective!
