The 5 Browns

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 8PM
HODGSON CONCERT HALL

"One family, five pianos and fifty fingers add up to the biggest classical music sensation in years." That's what the New York Post wrote about The 5 Browns. The youthful, all-American quintet of brothers and sisters from Utah all studied at New York's famous Juilliard School of Music, and each is a virtuoso concert pianist. Now, The 5 Browns are delivering on their dream of waking up classical music and introducing it to the widest, largest, and most excited audience they can find. Performing a broad range of classical favorites as well as seldom heard masterpieces, The 5 Browns will thrill you with their energy and musicality. You'll love your evening with classical music's first family of piano virtuosos.

The line-up of Punch Brothers—whose name is taken from the Mark Twain short story, "Punch, Brothers, Punch!"—is formidable, including Chris Thile, who, the Washington Post said recently, "may well be the most virtuosic American ever to play the mandolin." Collecting five singular abilities and viewpoints into one musical force, Punch Brothers have established a place among the most dynamic and talented presences on the contemporary music scene. As performing and recording artists, composers and interpreters, technicians and stylists, they continue to push the boundaries of possibility. Their previous appearance at the UGA Performing Arts Center was a sold-out event, so don't get shut out!
