Vivaldi's The Four Seasons
Conductor Stephen Mulligan leads the ASO in a popular program featuring Vivald's The Four Seasons and Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony. Antonio Vivaldi’s four concertos, known as The Four Seasons, are among the world’s best-loved compositions. Each concerto represents one of the four seasons of the year. The plucked strings in “Winter” suggest the cold rain. There is a thunderstorm in “Summer,” and even a barking dog in “Spring.” The ASO’s assistant concertmaster Justin Bruns is the violin soloist.
Pre-concert lecture with Ken Meltzer at 2:15 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall.
